If you've never visited her shop(s) before you're in for a real treat! Style? What to expect? I've been racking my brains trying to think of how to describe her creations. Eclectic is close but even that doesn't come near to describing the wealth of creations this lady makes - and when she is in the zone you can expect lots of new items daily. Imagine one of those olde time variety stores (without the old time smell though!) where you go in and ooh and aaah and get lost in a myriad of memories and fantasies as you uncover each new piece.
But Ruby herself describes it best in her profile:
I've been creating things for myself and others for ages. My inspiration comes from bygone eras (1920's through the 60's mostly), trips to Ireland, old timey sailors, flappers, french accordian music, beatniks, burlesque and occasionally Crown Royal.
I make all sorts of different things such as customized wood boxes, wall hangings, ornaments, coasters etc. I specialize in collaged family heirloom boxes and Irish inspired stuff.
What she doesn't say is that she is a lovely lady with a sparkling and bubbly personality and infectious smile! I had the pleasure of meeting up with her in Chicago where she introduced me to the Beat Kitchen and the scrummiest thai pizza!
Anyway! The Giveaway! Ruby is giving away a trio of quintessentially Irish photo cards:
The final card is some wee Irish sheebies taken on a lovely sunny day in Inishowen, Co Donegal:
